In Pectore — more than just a choir
Our musical journey began quietly, in the depths of hearts united by a shared longing to sing. From the first notes we sang together, we felt the incredible power of music — one able to heal souls and bring people together.
In Pectore is more than just a choir. It's a big family, where every voice matters. We sing about love, dreams, hope, and faith in the future. Our concerts are always a celebration, full of genuine emotion and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere.
We're grateful to our conductor, Olena Radko, who has become more than a teacher to us — a friend and a muse. Thanks to her talent and dedication to music, we keep growing and reaching new heights.

I saw an ad for a children's choir recruitment. I immediately decided to bring my daughter to the audition, so she'd make friends and have a safe space to speak her native language and do what she loves. I had no idea back then that I needed the same thing myself.

Singing and choir were only ever a part of my life in primary school. As an adult, I could picture myself as a bit of an artist, but definitely not as a first soprano. 😃 But then it turned out my child loves singing, and that's how I found out about the parents' choir recruitment. And a miracle happened — I got in! I've been singing for 2 years now. For me, the choir is everything: singing, discovering something new, art therapy, laughter therapy, and a circle of like-minded people.
Music has been my companion since childhood. It all started with the piano, tall stacks of sheet music, and frozen hands at winter exams. Like many children, I had thoughts of giving up music. But the final chord of my graduation exam became the start of a new chapter — I was invited to try my hand at singing. And that world swept me away! Then I "went with the flow" — guitar, flute, double bass, domra. Life eventually pulled me away from music for a long time — career, kids… I sang, at most, lullabies for my sons.
And then, suddenly — an unexpected ad for adult choir recruitment. Music came back into my life, filling it with the joy of creating. I'm grateful to fate for this gift!
I joined In Pectore in October 2025, went through the audition, and after that… I simply couldn't bring myself to miss a single rehearsal or concert. For me the choir is medicine for the soul — that much-needed, precious contact with kindred spirits, with talented people, the sense of being part of something beautiful. My heartfelt thanks to Olena Radko for believing in us, for the beautiful and remarkable pieces we perform under her direction, and for this miracle that is In Pectore.
My first season. Sadly I didn't manage to take part in all events, but even so — it was a few months of sheer joy (though after some rehearsals I did end up in tears, well, what can you do…)
Singing in a choir is a unique experience that helps you understand a great deal, both about yourself and "about life". On the one hand, you're just a small part of a single mechanism, and on your own — however hard you try — you can't deliver the result. On the other, if you mess up, you can ruin everything your counterparts have worked for. So every one of us matters in her own place, and something whole can only be created together, in unity. And that feeling of responsibility and shared support and trust, both at once, is absolutely incredible. And it's probably only possible in a group where, beyond the creative side, people simply enjoy being together. Talking, laughing our heads off, sharing each other's troubles. And the most important part is the person who gathers all this human and creative material, shapes it, leads it, inspires it, and sometimes practically carries it on her own energy. Watching our Olena work at rehearsals is a pleasure all of its own — the meticulous, patient way every phrase and every note is moulded and built up. Cleaned, polished, cut like a gemstone. When you play an instrument as a soloist, you do it yourself; here, it is done with you. With you as the instrument. Masterfully and confidently. Make us instruments))
So this turned out to be a declaration of love)) I could say more. But I won't. I'll only say thank you: to my In Pectore, to my family, who helped me so much to make all of this possible at all, and to our audiences, who gave us the chance to sing for them and to delight in their genuine applause and gratitude.
